Welcome to The Tuesday Table
Pull up a chair.
I’m so glad you’re here.
I have been waiting for this moment with a mixture of nervousness, excitement, and gratitude.
And here we are.
For years, I believed my greatest purpose was helping other people find their voices. At the time, I thought that meant helping them express themselves through theater, singing, or some other form of the Arts.
What I did not realize was that while I was helping others find their voices, I was also learning to use my own.
I was a shy little girl.
Now, if you asked my family, they might laugh and say, “Kim? Shy? Not at our house!”
The truth is, both things are true.
I grew up as the middle child in a large family where there was always conversation, laughter, and plenty of personality. Around our table, everyone had something to say.
I found myself talking louder so I could be heard. Over time, it became a habit—one that appeared only around my family.
Unfortunately, what began as a way of making sure I was heard became, in many ways, a form of survival.
My family still sees that louder side of me because, from time to time, I find myself falling back into the old habit.
Outside my family, I remain quiet and listen more than I speak.
Both sides are genuinely me.
When I entered education, I did so because I wanted to serve “the least of these.”
I wanted to serve children and families who were too often overlooked, underestimated, or unheard. I wanted them to know that they mattered, their gifts had value, and their voices deserved to be heard.
For more than two decades, I have had the privilege of teaching children, coaching teachers, supporting school leaders, and walking alongside families.
Somewhere along the way, I realized that helping other people find their voices was one of the ways I had quietly been using my own.
Before writing became part of my journey, there was faith.
My faith was at the center of it all. It sustained me and taught me to trust the purpose of the journey, even when I could not see where it was leading.
Then, in 2025, God placed a new assignment on my heart:
Write the book.
I was afraid.
I did not doubt the message. I questioned whether I was supposed to be the one delivering it.
Still, I wrote.
One page at a time.
Somewhere between the first word and the final page, I realized that writing was another way of using my voice.
When When the Bell Rings But They’re Gone was published, an idea I once carried became something I could hold in my hands.
Writing required faith.
Sharing required courage.
Now I am preparing to share the revised and expanded special edition, and I am excited about what comes next.
That journey connects to the heart of More Than Just A Thought LLC.
I was one of those people who had ideas and did not always act on them.
Then one day, I took a chance and created my first T-shirt.
It may have seemed like a small step. For me, it showed what could happen when I stopped holding back and made an idea real.
That first step led to others.
I wrote a book, designed curriculum for a school, became a publisher, and built a company that brings together education, storytelling, creativity, and purpose.
More Than Just A Thought grew from one powerful belief:
An idea should never remain just a thought.
It deserves the opportunity to grow, take shape, and make an impact.
Now I want to help other people believe in their ideas and take their own first step.
That is the heart of More Than Just A Thought LLC.
It is Where Creativity Meets Purpose.
And that brings me to this table.
Every Tuesday, we will pause for honest and encouraging conversations about faith, leadership, education, creativity, purpose, business, writing, and life.
Some conversations may make us think.
Some may make us laugh.
Some may encourage us to take a step we have been avoiding.
Wherever you are in your journey, welcome.
There is room for you here.
Around the Table
What idea, dream, or gift have you been carrying that is ready to become more than just a thought?
I would love to hear from you in the comments.
Take It With You
This week, take one faithful step toward it.
Write the first page.
Make the phone call.
Send the email.
Begin the plan.
Purpose often grows one faithful step at a time.
Before You Leave My Table Today…
May you recognize the gifts already within you.
May you remember that your story has value, your voice has purpose, and your ideas can make a difference.
Next Tuesday, I hope you will pull up a chair again as we talk about what happens when a dream arrives before all the details.
Until next Tuesday…
Keep creating. Keep believing. Keep living with purpose.
Grace and peace,
